Sonnet #2

I longed for restless nights

When I slept for days

And longed for bloody fist-fights

While spending time in the pacifist's haze

I longed for passionate lust

When this boy was so much more

I longed for tepid disgust

When I hade someone to adore

When I finally got my heart's desire

I realized the stupidity in this

In the action filled line of fire

I forgot the things I would really miss

And when the night came crashing, I stood alone at last

And watching the last rays of sun, I longed for my past

Sonnet #1

för ett tag sedan hade vi Shakespeare-tema på engelskan, så jag fick för mig att skriva sonetter à la Shakespeare:)

As the thorn pierces my finger

Your words pierce my mind

The feeling of pain lingers

What I've lost I'll never find

The last thing I'll ever see

Before darkness takes me in

Is your eyes, scolding me

As they judge me for my sin

Your gaze, so raven black

Imprinted on my brain

I want my feelings back

My mind was never sane

I place my heart forever in your care

The rules of Loss, aren't always fair

Why Ravens Weep

The storm raged, the streets where soaked

A man was running, his fear thoroughly cloaked

He ran so fast from long-ago and past lies

He ran so fast, didn't feel the heavenly cries

His brow wrinkled at the thought of bending

As if the act in it itself was his life's ending

As if he would rather die than submit to this crime

As if death didn't mean anything to him in his prime

As he saw it catching up to him, breathing in his ear

As he heard all the petrifying groans there is to hear

His step grew slow, and suddenly he stood entirely still

As if knowing that this was beyond him, beyond his will

The cry that belched from his throat, made ravens weep

And as he fell into the pond of shadows, he fell so deep

The tears of birds did not touch him now, nor did the storm

In the place he was, here existed neither cold nor warmth

The air stood still and he touched it, it was stone

And from underneath his palm something golden shone

And as he saw his long forgotten ability to feel

Tears wet his skin as he realised what was real

He cried for the wasted part of his life

And crippling thoughts turned the knife

And as he fell into that endless sleep

He suddenly knew why ravens weep
